Refer a Man to Support
Non-clinical pathway to connect men with peer support, mentoring, and community.
Connecting someone to support takes care and courage. Whether you are a healthcare professional, a community worker, an employer, or a friend, this page outlines how to refer a man to The Men Spirit. We provide safe, non-judgemental spaces where men can build emotional literacy, strengthen social connection, and find grounding.
Who Can Refer?
We welcome referrals from a wide range of professional and community networks, including:
Healthcare Professionals: General Practitioners (GPs), allied health workers, psychologists, and social workers looking for non-clinical, community-based support options for their patients.
Community Services: Case managers, support workers, suicide prevention networks, and men’s behavioural program facilitators.
Workplaces: HR professionals, Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), and managers supporting staff wellbeing.
Informal Networks: Family members, friends, and colleagues who have spoken with a man about seeking support.
Note: If you are a man looking to access support for yourself, you do not need a formal referral. Please reach out directly.
What We Offer
The Men Spirit provides several pathways for connection and growth. When you make a referral, we will work with the individual to determine which pathway best suits his current needs, readiness, and financial situation.
Men’s Circles & Group Gatherings: Safe, facilitated spaces for men to share experiences and build connection. These require only a minimal contribution and are open to all men.
1:1 Mentoring: Individualised support focused on the four dimensions of wellbeing. Mentoring has associated costs, though we consider financial hardship on a case-by-case basis.
Online Community: A gentle, low-barrier entry point via our WhatsApp group and shared resources, provided at no cost.
Workshops & Events: Structured sessions focusing on specific aspects of resilience and emotional literacy.

Before You Refer: Consent and Warm Referrals
To ensure safety, trust, and engagement, we only accept warm referrals.
A warm referral means:
1. You have spoken directly with the man about The Men Spirit.
2. He understands what we offer and that we are a non-clinical service.
3. He has given explicit consent for you to share his contact details and for us to contact him.
We cannot process referrals without the individual’s knowledge and consent.
What Happens Next?
Our referral process is designed to be clear, responsive, and respectful of everyone involved.
Submission: You submit the referral form below (or download and return the PDF version).
Acknowledgement: We will acknowledge receipt of the referral within two business days.
Connection: We will reach out to the referred man to introduce ourselves, answer any questions, and gently explore his needs.
Pathway Selection: Together, we will decide on the most appropriate entry point—whether that is a local gathering, 1:1 mentoring, or joining the online community.
Feedback: Where consent has been provided by the individual, we will close the loop and update the referrer on his engagement.
