Managing Overwhelm: Understanding and Navigating the Breaking Point
When the demands of our personal or professional lives exceed our capacity to cope, we enter a state of overwhelm. It affects our emotional, physical, and mental states to the point of shutdown. Often experienced as a state of bewildered confusion, overwhelm restricts our ability to think clearly and act rationally, leaving us feeling blindsided and incapacitated.
This 90-minute workshop is designed to help you understand and untangle this experience. We will explore the circumstances that trigger overwhelm in an open, structured discussion format. Following this, you will be offered practical tools and techniques to manage overwhelm and more effectively liberate yourself from its grip in daily life.
To be human is to have suffered; there is no escaping it. Yet, it is through understanding our experiences that we build the capacity to move forward. This workshop provides a safe, non-judgemental space to learn, reflect, and connect.

About the Facilitator: Adam Weaver
Adam Weaver brings almost four decades of study in eastern philosophy, meditation, and the human condition to his work at The Men Spirit. Adam’s keys to healing have been learned and experienced firsthand. This lived experience forms the foundation of his approach, allowing him to connect with genuine empathy and understanding.
As Principal of Connected Spirit Counselling and a member of the Australian Counselling Association, Adam offers a holistic and intuitive approach. He draws on positive, solution-focused, and transpersonal models of practice, respecting each individual's spiritual, agnostic, or atheist beliefs.
Adam collaborates with men to untangle trauma with curiosity and compassion. In doing so, men can make greater peace with past experiences that often manifest intrusively as anxiety or depression in the present moment. His sessions focus on building self-awareness and teaching self-care techniques to support ongoing emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing.
