Stronger pathways.

More connected support.

Men’s wellbeing is often strengthened when community, clinical care, allied health and workplaces work alongside one another.

The Men Spirit partners with aligned organisations to create safer, clearer pathways into support, connection and personal growth. Our work is community-led and non-clinical. We value lived experience, evidence-informed practice, appropriate professional support, and the relationships that help men feel less alone.

Working alongside others

No single service can meet every need a man may have. Some men may benefit from a facilitated gathering and peer connection. Others may also need psychological care, allied health support, a workplace wellbeing pathway, or support to rebuild healthy routines.

Our partner network helps us work responsibly within those boundaries. It creates opportunities for warm referrals, shared learning, community events and future collaborative initiatives, while keeping each organisation’s role clear.

The Men Spirit is a community-based, non-clinical service. We do not replace medical, psychological, allied health, emergency or crisis support. Where another service may be helpful, we encourage choice, consent and an appropriate pathway based on each person’s needs and preferences.

What collaboration can look like

Partnerships develop at different paces and take different forms. Some relationships focus on reciprocal referral pathways, while others may involve joint workshops, community events, training, research, shared advocacy or workforce wellbeing initiatives.

Collaboration area What this may involve
Referral pathways Warm, consent-based introductions between community, clinical and allied health supports.
Community connection Cross-promotion of suitable gatherings, shared events and opportunities for men to connect.
Workplace wellbeing Workshops, education and practical support for workplaces and high-pressure industries.
Training and capacity building Joint learning that strengthens trauma-informed practice, facilitation and organisational culture.
Research and advocacy Evaluation, knowledge sharing and future work that informs a stronger men’s wellbeing sector.

Our partner network

The organisations below contribute different strengths, perspectives and pathways. What connects them is a shared interest in creating more accessible, respectful and human-centred support.

Clinical & Allied Health Pathways

Ascension Clinic provides neuroaffirmative psychological assessment and therapy for individuals navigating a range of mental health, relationship, trauma, addiction and neurodivergence-related concerns. Its practical, human-first approach complements The Men Spirit’s non-clinical community support.

Our relationship helps create clearer pathways between professional psychological care and safe spaces for peer connection, reflection and belonging. Where appropriate, referrals are guided by the person’s needs, preferences and consent.

Activate Allied Health is a multidisciplinary allied health clinic based in Balwyn North. Its Exercise Physiology team supports people across their mental health journey through personalised movement programs shaped around each individual’s goals, preferences and needs.

Our relationship creates a practical pathway between community connection, sustainable movement and wellbeing support. This may be relevant for men who want to build confidence, routine, physical health and social connection alongside other forms of support.

Community & Peer Connection

Island of Men is a volunteer-led, not-for-profit community that brings men together to deepen their connection with themselves, each other and nature. Its gatherings create opportunities for men to listen, share, learn and take part in a supportive community.

The Men Spirit and Island of Men share a commitment to genuine connection, respectful spaces and a healthier expression of masculinity. Our relationship opens opportunities for men to discover suitable community events and for future collaboration where there is a clear shared purpose.

Workplace & Community Wellbeing

Wellness4Workers is a registered Health Promotion Charity supporting the mental and physical wellbeing of Australian workers. Its work connects people with fitness, wellness, mental health education, mentoring and community-based support, with particular relevance for workers experiencing stress, hardship or social isolation.

Our relationship creates opportunities to strengthen support pathways for men in workplaces and high-pressure industries. It also provides a foundation for future education, community initiatives and wellbeing conversations that are grounded in real-life pressures.

Trauma-Informed Practice & Capacity Building

Wagtail Institute works alongside schools, youth organisations, mental health teams and other complex settings to strengthen wellbeing through trauma-informed practice. Its work supports leaders and practitioners to build cultures of safety, connection and sustainable care.

The relationship between Wagtail Institute and The Men Spirit brings together trauma-informed organisational practice, lived experience, men’s wellbeing and community connection. It creates potential for shared learning and workshops that support both the people receiving care and the people who hold space for others.
